WOW WOW and if I forgot to say WOW let me say WOW!

Nic, without a doubt one of the best versions I have ever heard.

You jam packed that one with some very tasteful phrases my friend.

I'd like to end this by saying WOW.

Hey Nic, I'll add another Wow! In there too. What feeling and expression, you sure put into that one.

A great job, for certain. Glad I got to hear it.

Thanks,
Don

Nic that was beautiful. It was also different enough to be special. You have some nice new licks in there. How did you get that rich full sound? Is it the Emmons you are playing on?

Great job!!

Mighty fine Nic...sounding great...

Bent,
On this song I used my Emmons D10 (1970 P/P)with George L E66 pickups. From the Emmons to a Boss GX-700 for slight echo and digital reverb, to my recording desk (flat EQ). Look on Charles Tilley's post, in reply to Al Marcus's question, where I gave a more detailed description of the gear used.
Thanks for your kind comments. You are welcome to PM me if you have more questions.
Regards,
Nic

Hi Nic,
Thanks for the tab and track. Great stuff! The track sounds real good. Maybe this will make me sit down at the steel again. The melody has been playing in my head all day long!
Now if only these stiff fingers will obey...
Thanks again my friend.

Nic

Absoluut ongelooflik! Kan jy asseblief vir my ook die tab stuur?

Sorry guys, just saying a few words in Afrikaans to Nic. I am an ex South African but now lives in Australia, and also a keen steeler.

Nic, it has been a while since I visited you in Cape Town and talked with you on the phone. Wow is all I can say as well!!! This version of "Borrowed Angel" is absolutely fantastic. The tab to this song would solve a lot of my steel questions, especially those licks where strings are used in unison.

I will be on holiday early next year and will be visiting South Africa. Hopefully will be making plans to send my steel over here, cause it is still in SA. Is there a possibility (if you have time) to help me redo the setup of the steel, especially the C6 neck. It is a bit messed up I think. I have a Mullen D-10 with 8 floors and 7 knees. My technical knowledge of our beloved instrument and setting it up is not what it should be!!

Keep up the good work and hope to hear from you soon.

Mooi bly daar

Nic, IMO, I've never heard it played better. Please send me the tab for this, and for God's sake don't stop playing the psg. Few can do what you do.

Stan,
Thanks for the compliment!
I also heard, after doing the recording, some phrases a la Lloyd Green.....It was never intended, though. It just goes to show; you listen to these guys and something is bound to rub off.

Beautifully done Nic,

It has all been said already but some of that phrasing just blew me away, when I go to lick six that was unexpected I gave up!

Not to mention that little run up at 2.30min in ..

Lovely work and greatly appreciated! ….

Don’t even think about chucking it!
