hi folks,
i recently had a very bad mishap in the woodshop and cut a tendon in my left index finger. i had surgery on friday. hopefully i will regain full motion. the doctor thinks so. before the surgery i already knew that thiis would not affect my steel playing. other instruments?....yeah.

anyway, i am looking at this as an opportunity to improve my right hand picking techniques as i can't work and will be climbing the walls looking for something to do.
my left hand will be in a full cast for four weeks.

so i'm asking that if you run across videos of steel players doing nice little runs without moving the bar, to post a link here. even if it's just a short part. or anything else you might think helpful. thanx

Joe Wright had a ton of picking exercises on his page. I just looked and you have to sign up for it now, but it's still free info:

There's a fair amount on=f picking stuff on Buddy Emmon's pages:

This isn't a picking exercise but I read about it in one of Randy Beavers' posts. He said that on the way to a gig he moves two golfballs around every which way in a hand. It limbers up and exercises it.

So, I thought, why not? And it works great! Really helps me.
