At least someone has a clue. Maybe it's the typical wait until the last minute to ask/confirm with the artists thing.
Bobby Ingano is planning on playing, but as of yesterday, hadn't heard back from whomever is doing the schedualing.

Sure would like to see some new/different/exciting names included when it's finalized.

Don, unless something irregular occurs, I'll probably miss the Ala Wai show, gotta work. But I'm hoping to at least hit the May Day is lei day/Kap. Park shebang and hullabaloo, and I imagine you'll be there, so I'll keep an eye peeled for you.

Ron,

I will be at the May Day celebration at Kapiolani Park. See you there.

The probable coordinators for the Ala Wai event are Kamaka Tom and Paul Kim.

Paul Kim would be certain to be on the program at Ala Wai.

Aloha, Smile

Which new/exciting/different players would you like to see, Ron? I'm sure the planners would appreciate your feedback on specific players.

I talked with Bobby yesterday, but he didn't mention playing there. Likely forgot.

Ron, In case you did not get a previous post on this, the official list of players for the Sunday, May 3, Ala Wai Clubhouse Ballroom are:

Performers:
Paul Kim, President HSGA
Steve Cheney
Bobby Ingano
Jeff Au Hoy
Greg Sardinha Trio
Lion Kobayashi
Alan Akaka, Past President HSGA
Jam Session

All of the foregoing players are professional Hawaiian steel guitar players. All of them are excellent and play professionally in Hawaii with the exception of Lion Kobayashi, who is a professional from Japan.

Just think, professional entertainment and all you do is donate to the callabash bowl for needy Hawaiian Senior Citizens. How fortunate we are! Smile

It would be nice to include Casey Olsen. Where is he?

Aloha, Smile
Don

Thanks Don, we can always count on you.

Not a shabby line-up at all!
Let's pray for a decent sound system this time so all that talent isn't wasted.

Hope I don't have to miss it, but after sending some cash to Tony Locke for his unfortunate needs I'll have to work amap to recoup.
