Here's a pic taken from the Steel Guitar Forum where the steel player has an instrument painted black on top and white at the sides.
Very unusual combination IMHO. Does anybody know what he is using there?

That looks like a young Basil Henriques in the background. Perhaps he can give us more information. Where in the big wide SGF did you find that photo?

Yes Brad that is a young Basil, a very young Basil, and that's his mother Peggy. As for the guitar I,m sure he'll know, I'll go and tell him to have a look.

1962 The Hawaiian Room at the white horse Inn Berkswell Warwickshire United Kingdom : The Golden Hawaiians.
Personnel = Basil Henriques, Peggy Henriques, Ken Thomas and Gerard Henriques.
The guitar is a Selmer (Hand painted to look good under lights)
The Guitar I'm playing is a "Golden Hofner" worth approx about 50X the value of the selmer.
There is a Selmer just sold on E-Bay, different body but identical electronics and controls/bridge etc.
