Found some really nice Bill Frisell with Greg Leisz, Djelimandy Tounkara, Jenny Scheinman and Sidiki Camara. Nice stuff! Greg Leisz is playing a giant Sierra in the first two:

Hi Marc

Thanks for posting the links to the YouTube London Concert - that is such great stuff for me to see. I was lucky to see Frisell, Jenny Schneinman and Leisz in concert at the Univ. Calif. Davis, Mondavi Center, April 4, where they performed a new Frisell project called the Disfarmer Project. It was a great concert. Wonderful for me to see a steel guitar used as an important voice in some very ambitious and innovative music. There was also a bass player named Victor Krauss. They were all superb.

Leisz played on a Williams pedal steel and a dobro. He also did a bit of madolin playing.

The concert lasted nearly two hours. There were photographs shown on large panels to either side of the players which were the insipiration for the music. The photographs were by an man who named himself Disfarmer in order to express is refusal to be a farmer or his attitude to that hard life. Portraits of hard working people and their children in the 40s mostly, farmers and German emigrants. Very effective, I thought.

Thanks again for your post

Richard
