There have been a few of those on Ebay. The seller is full of bull-pucky about it being "one of the last aluminum frypan types etc" before WW2.. Anything to make a sale I guess. The current opinion is that they are made of cast zinc and not aluminum. I don't know that for a fact though.

Also there were comments here last year about difficulties keeping those in tune. (??)

It's a Supro Electric Hawaiian from between 1936 and 1939. Assuming everything works as it should, that's probably a reasonable price for it. Either the tuners or the tuner knobs have been changed, which is not unexpected and very common with these guitars.

The tuning issues referenced by Mr. Creller were possibly remarks I made about the National Electric Hawaiian I had. It had a very strong tendency to go out of tune when subjected to climate changes (like walking out on stage, taking it out of the case, etc.). Smile

I would certainly try to negotiate a lower price. Good luck if you decide to investigate further.
