Interesting Bible Verse...PSALM 33:2
PSALM 33:2
"Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings."
PSALM 33:3
"Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise."
I just thought I would share. Seems to me, the good Lord was thinking of the steel guitar way back then...

In my church, we go for that "loud noise" part for sure. LOL

MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, as well as some older MSAs, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Recently added a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored blue Rose, named the "Blue Bird" to the herd. Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic again that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also added a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks.

steel in church
I play at church from time to time
and it seems to work well
A friend of mine told me( he is a pastor
who plays steel guitar)once a lady came up and told him he needed to get that ole honky tonk steel guitar and throw it out of church.....
his reply was well you better throw the piano out
first cause it was honky tonk instrument way before
the steel guitar was!!!
she left in a daze hehehehehe

There is one more reference to an instrument of 10 strings: Psalms 92:3.
You need to use the King James translation to get the specific reference to "10 strings" as with all the other references cited.

Don't know about that, but I'd say it's pretty plain that universals weren't real big on HIS list!L. A. Wunder wrote:Here's another good one...
Psalm 144:9 "O Lord I will sing unto you. Upon an instrument of ten strings, I will make melody unto you."
Now you try and tell ME the steel guitar doesn't belong in church!
