The forum's own Bob Knight will be performing at Tootsie's in Nashville from 5 to 8 tonight (Sat. 10-27). For those who can make it, go out and say hi to Bob and his band, "The Reasonable Doubts". Smiley Roberts will be in attendance as well as myself and my wife Karen, Jimmie Crawford and Russ & Laney Hicks. John Hughey is playing 2 doors down at Legend's so it should be a fun filled night. |

After "96 hours" on I-65,(construction) I finally made it downtown,to Tootsie's. Had a great time w/ Bob & band. Russ showed,(minus Laney). Mike (Weird) Weirauch & darlin' wife Karen FINALLY showed,(about a ½ hour B4 Bob quit. Jimmie Crawford was a "no show" 'cause he couldn't find a parkin' space. Says he drove around the block for "4 days." Finally, gave up & went home. After that,we all went over to see John Hughey (& Jean). Had a ball w/ them. It was "Halloween Night" over there,& John looked like the Tn. Titans waterboy. Johnny Cox was playin' bass,& looked like the boy next door. (next door to a mental institution.) Fun was had by all!

......One bit of trivia that you won't hear on the street or read in a magazine. Smiley Roberts has 2 (YES TWO, count them) promo pictures hanging behind the plexiglass walls of Tootsie's. They've been there since the late 60's......
A huge time was had by all. Smiley won the prize for the funniest costume last night on Broadway beating out Colonel Sanders Riding a Chicken. Johnny Cox had the funniest teeth I've ever seen because I did not recognize him at first, NO KIDDING! John Hughey and Bob knight both played great and Johnny Cox was an added surprise and Ms. Jean is an absolute Princess. Everyone had a great time but never as good or much as the Internationally World Famous Smiley Robert did. He is truly THE greatest, not just one of the greatest.
......Someone stand out on 5th and Broad and flag Jimmie down and tell him he can go back home now!!!!!! |

Thanks Guys for the compliments and comments.
I am fortunate to be working with Scott Patrick and "The Reasonable Doubt Band".
Scott is an aspiring song writer, and has some great soon to be heard material, and is also a fine vocalist in his own right.
quote: Music critics proclaim Patrick to be, "one of the most talented new, up and coming artists in the field of country and gospel music." His unique, from-the-heart songwriting and vocal styles are moving. Patrick is a shy, and modest young man who says, "I like to write songs and sing; that's my whole world, besides my little girl" Courtney. Scott's dynamic vocals bring you back to the beauty of a good country sound. His lyrics paint a picture of how life is so simple. Lyrics that are of love, family, sadness, happiness, lost love. Ballads and vocals that will tear your heart out one minute and then an up-temo song kicks in that will set your boots to stomp¹ and have you two-steppin¹ around that dance hall floor.
Scott acquired extensive studio experience recording. He recorded a composition of his own music like "Momma's Love", "Lady Liberty", and "Hard Lesson Learned."
The show was in the club upstairs at Tootsie's, and was a songwriter's showcase to expose Scott's songs to the powers that be.
"Reasonable Doubt" has been around for a while and have played a lot of local and regional venues. I am enjoying the challenge of working with them, they are all great musicians.
As Mike and Smiley stated, after our show we had a large time listening to John Hughey, Johnny Cox, Mike Siler and band at "Legend's Corner".
I also got a chance to hear and visit with Tommy Hannum in one of the clubs on Lower Broad.
Anyone that thinks that traditional country music is dead in Nashville should visit "Legends Corner" on weekends.
Thanks again Guys,
Bob [This message was edited by Bob Knight on 29 October 2001 at 08:31 AM.] |
