John: Roy & I are so proud of you but you already knew that. You know that Roy plays an Excel and would play nothing else. We are going to St. Louis this year so if you get there be sure to look us up. Your friends, Roy & Laurie

Hi Judy, nice threat. So proud for you with John. He is one of the very best.
Sure hope you could arrange for John to be at our June 20 Deep South Steel show here on the Mississippi Coast. We have a very nice community center reserved and the Mississippi Coast Jazz Society will also be on stage and it would be a treat to have John join in on their program. Hope it can be worked out. Contact me for particulars, etc.
Thanks.
Bill Stafford

Hi John. Scotty's Music is the world wide distributor for the Excel steel guitar and we are getting more and more endorsements all the time. Mitsuo Fujii (FujiiSan) is a master builder and the Excel Superb model has the most updated state of the art changer on the market. Anyone interested in the Excel can contact me at scotty@scottysmusic.com and can see the Excel guitar on our website. www.scottysmusic.com. Scotty

Judy, this is great news and thank you for the update. I know John has been working very hard and he deserves all the work and endorsements. John really raved about his new Excel steel guitar when he received it and has told me about it's unique sound. I recently saw the Morrell lap steel videos and these are great marketing tools for John as well as Morrell, as you and Morrell already know. While I'm at it let me say that all this is happening because of your hard work as well.

Kindest regards,

I read the thread and just thought back several years. I bought my first Steel from Mr. Joe Morrell on East State street in Bristol. I was raised in a small community 9 miles from Bristol. I was in his music store every saturday. I paid him $25.00 for it on credit and paid five down and 10 a week. He even put Black Diamond strings on it for me. That was 47 years ago and Steel Guitar's have taken my monies every since. Mac Wiseman, Lester Flatt and Curley King, Jim and Jessee, and Ralph Standly, would come in and pick at Morrell music. What a treat for a small boy wearing his dashboard overall and milk cows and put up hay for six strings and a flat piece of wood. They would also play at a radio station there called signs of WOPI and WCYB. WOPI on Tenn side and WCYB Va side.

Judy and Judy great work!
