Where to see good music in Hawaii?

Some friends of mine are honeymooning in Hawaii soon, and they asked me about music. Can anyone suggest some decent venues for authentic Hawaiian music?

If they're on Oahu, at the Polynesian Cultural Center there is a man that does a 20 minute seminar on the history on Hawaiian musical instruments, and he talks about the history of the steel guitar. Later at the Luau there is a guy that plays a non-pedal steel guitar. That doesn't really answer your question, but its all I can offer.
