Hey you guys know where I can get replacement plates in plastic, wood, or chrome? I want to replace the white painted metal ones so I can preserve them since the paint chips off so easily.

A while back I had an idea for a wooden Ric and photo chopped in some maple burl plates, body was going to be a red / brown padouk, but didn't get it shopped in.

On a real Ric, some nice white maple plates or even some holly would look great, holly is about the whitest wood available without bleaching.

I took my white metal plates off and had them triple chromed for about $100. Really came out nice.

Some time back, a fellow from the U.K. posted about his manufacturing those metal plates.

I have need for a right hand, audience side, plate where the volume control is mounted.

I can't find this fellow anywhere..... He sent me two excellent samples.

I'd like to communicate with him once again or anyone else, that has a "SPARE" plate as described above.

I've repainted a bunch of those over the years, and haven't had any problems with peeling, chipping etc.
Maybe the paint is old and brittle (original?)

the prior owner had drilled two holes in a piece of flat aluminum, dull finish, and installed two push button switches to cut out the hights/lows of the pickup. Don't know why but........

The present piece with the two holes in it, looks like heck.

Just want to dress up this great sounding little g'tar.

Just recently, there was a modded bakelite with wood plates looking very cool and much like Tom's mock-up, only WAY better.
Made me want to buy it, and I don't want a 6er!

Tom,
Is there anything that you make that doesn't look great? Very Happy
