You may want to check out pickups on ebay. I used a couple DiMarzio 7 string bridge pickups a few years ago. I believe the model was DP702. Some outfit was also selling them new, from a music store, on ebay.
I still have a guitar I built back then with one of those in it. It's a nice tone, with an ash body. |

Ryan Rukavina makes excellent custom pickups.
If you are okay with regular guitar string spacing, then any 7 string guitar pu will do. However, if you intend to do much bar slanting, a 3/8" string and pole spacing is usually preferred. I'm building a double 8 at present, using two of Ryan's pickups, with 3/8" spacing at both bridge and nut.

I am also building a ten string single neck, with a Jerry Wallace TT-10, made with the same parallel string spacing.
Also, if you want a humbucker type, the Geaorge-L 10 string pedal steel pickups are blade, instead of individual pole pieces, so you can array as many, or as few strings across them.
Good Luck. Don |

Oh yeah,
Ryan also makes double coil PUs.
All of these pickups I've mentioned go for a good bit under $100, and I think they are all very reasonably priced. |

Check out Rio Grande pickups. The make some nice stuff at reasonable prices. Also Vintage Vibes might have a size that'll work for 7-string.
Most guitar pickup manufacturers make a 7 string version. If you want wider standard guitar spacing, it's a nice option. If you want closer spacing you can always slant a single coil pickup (or 2). _________________ John Allison
