Would like some help finding a good amp doctor in the Durham, NC vicinity (within driving distance 50-100 miles). Specifically looking for someone good with tube amps .
I will eventually be bringing home a '73 Fender Vibrosonic, and will want to have someone reliable to check it out.

I may not sound good, I just don't wanna sound bad. |

Chuck, for some mysterious reason, when I post a link
in this forum, it doesn't work. Type it in the address bar and it'll go thru. _________________ LeGrande II, Nash. 112, Fender Twin Tone Master, Session 400, Harlow Dobro, R.Q.Jones Dobro |

There's always Bull City Sound on Broad St, for a truly unique amp repair experience. Darren's helped me out with a few old Fenders too, he's great. |

Hi Nathan,
I had to chuckle a little at your comment, diplomacy like I've not seen for a while .
I had considered Bull City, and I have dealt with him a little once on a DI box I bought from him. That experience was a good one, but as you say it was unique. Aside from that I don't have much experience with him and no other recommendations for Bull City Sound.
I'm not sure if this amp has any issues, but did want it to get a checkup. I want to try to insure a good technician works on it as opposed to someone experimenting, dabbling, or modification-happy. In other words, this thing may need some TLC, and I don't want someone "hacking" on it. Which, I think you can appreciate.
But, thanks for that input! He is likely the closest to me.

Yeh, not trying to be negative. Russ is great & very knowledgeable about most all things electronic. I still bring stuff to him, and it's a trip to be in his shop. But it sounds like Darren's the better option in this situation. |
