Alan,
Last I heard, Charlie Archer is playing pedal steel for Loretta. I have his old Emmons PP that he owned while playing lead guitar for Conway Twitty and have spoken to him within the last year or so.

Charlie is definitely still playin' steel for Loretta. A few years ago, he started playin' a GFI steel.
