I just got my usual Musicians Friend latest catalog in the mail.

This EH Voice Box piked my interest.

Sounds too good to be true. ..."like having the Beach Boys or Dixie Chicks adding harmony to any song you lay down"... (paraphrased a bit). And anywhere from 2 to 4 part harmonies.

I like that.

Does anyone have one? Or used one? Or know anything about this voice box?

It also is supposed to do other things as it's also a VOCODER. I looked VC up on Wikipedia and apparently vocoder is an old concept. It has a history. Wikipedia started getting "deep" into it, so I decided I had enough 'tech' for tonight, and decided to put this post in before I hit the rack.

Thanks all.

...sounds like a fun toy, if nothing else (for a couple hundred bucks).

Cool

Thanks Donny,

For the YT link. That link was a pretty fair and accurate demo. I was afraid of that.

Now I'm gonna have to shell out the $200+ to get one.

That box sings. Smile

David,

There are more 'demos' than just the link that Donny offered.

I agree, some of the settings sound like chipmunks; or worse. Those sounds are not somewhere I would gravitate towards.

But the person actually singing and employing the 'harmonizing' aspects of the EH Voice Box sounds pretty good to my ears.

If you feel like giving it a second go-around, then focus in on the vocals.

I say this, because up until now, I've respected and found much truth in your opinions and thoughts.

So when you simply dismissed this (new) EH box out of hand, I was a bit taken aback. I felt you didn't give it a broad enough listening.

You usually have much more to say about things, in general, than quick dismissals, as you've demonstrated here.

But, if that is your bottom line concensus on the Voice Box, then that's OK, too.

What do I know? Very Happy

Chip, I'm gettin' cranky with my old age and recession unemployment. I'm open to the idea, and will be waiting to hear it done well. It was getting a little interesting with that young female singer.

[You know of course that I'm just a hack player and like to write a bunch of garbage here on the Forum instead of practicing and getting better. Oh Well ]
