I met Bobbe 20 years ago at the "Debary Steel" show in Fl. with Larry Self. I did all the video at the time and was that a great job. I become friends with the GREAT of the steel players. Jimmy Day, Herby Walace,Lynn Osley,Don Helms, John Huey, Harold Fogle ,Jeff Newman, Hal Rugg and many, many more. I want to say that in my many years of travels through out the great USA. Bobbe Seymour's cassette has been the music that has kept me moving to the next town. I am now retired and still listen to this "cassette". I can't beleive I wore it out alreadey. The cassette is Bobbe Seymoure " Steel Guitar Favorites" I think he may have it on C.D. by now. Anyway, this is a BIG THANK YOU BOBBE. for all the music through the country roads, the music just before my big meetings and the releif of the day. Hope to see you in St. Louis this year. You got that right Jack,I listen to Mr. Seymore more than anyone else,Lots of GREAT,GREAT, pickers,but to me he's number ONE,He can take a song that's been done by every famous picker,put that Seymore TOUCH to it and make it HIS own. DYKBC.

I was at every show Larry had in Florida and I met Bobbe there also. Larry and Bobbe are both great guys with warped senses of humor. You have to like them both. I have tapes of Rob Parkers with Bobbe on
steel. He does some amazing things. Rob ain't too bad either.
I wish Larry was still putting on steel shows. They were always a great time.

Ah, yes, what great times those were. Thanks, Jack for bringing back the memories. And I remember one Ben Steel there, also. ...Anyway, back to Bobbe; a great player, and one of the most enjoyable to watch, flambouyant may be the word.

Thats funny because when ever I do road trips to Nashville or wherever Bobbe Seymour's "Steel Guitar Favorites" is at the top of the list. I have it on casstte and have to get my CD copy. Its a classic steel guitar album that makes me feel good when I am driving at night watching the white lines pass by. A very inspired recording by one of the classic steel players. Recorded on a Sho-Bud Fender for that classic steel sound. Something different that makes me smile when I hear it.

Rhythmatic is the one I play most in my car, especially before I go on a gig. It inspires me and shows me that steel guitar isn't just for country music. It can be used on just about any type of music.

I got the cassetts "Steel Guitar Favorites" and "Pure Country Steel" back in '84-85 (I think) and never listened to anything as much as I did these tapes while driving along--I always kept them in my truck. This was long before I took up the steel guitar myself (at about 50), and these tapes were my greatest inspiration to finally get off my butt and take up the instrument that I'd always loved.
I remember riding along one day listening to a song on "Pure Country Steel" and saying to myself--"Hot dam!--I want to make music like that!" A short time later I found an old Fender student model and that was the beginning! I still don't sound quite like Bobbe, but it's fun trying. I've got more of his stuff over the years. His playing is absolutely unique!

The muscians were: Buddy Spicher(with Wanda Vick), Me on dobro, Andy Reise, Bob Saxton and Tommy White on lead guitars, Carl Himmel on drums, Larry Paxton on bass, Berry Hill string section (6 players), Willy Rainsford and Bunky Keils on piano. Engineer was Skip Mitchell.

One of my favorite CD'S of Mr. Seymore is [ NO PEDALERS ALLOWED] Great classic tunes,played the way they SHOULD be played. A while back played in a little working band,we played Tooties every once in a while,The HIGH LIGHT of my trips were catching Mike Sweeney next door at Roberts,AND going by to visit Mr. Seymore. Bought a few guitars from him over the years,but it did'nt MATTER if you were spending money or just shooting the bull,he will treat you the same,GREAT, DYKBC.

I was talking on the phone with Bobbe Monday and he told me that I was just about his favorite Floridian,but it looks like he likes this Jack Sperry guy a lot also.Bobbe could you clarify who your favorite is.I am trying to get Bobbe to fly his fancy airplane down to florida and do a show,seminar thing.If anyone else is interested let me know.Bobbe sent me a part for my 66 Emmons for free once. thanks lakeshrk ps Bobbe if you get any of that stimulus money sent your way, please send some down my way,I,m 56 now and I may need a little help keeping things up and running in coming years

Florida has some WONDERFUL steel players, Jerry you are a GREAT friend, and ALL you guys are my very very favorites around Dec, Jan. and Febuary! This is when I love to visit you all!
I told a waitress in FL. to bring me an allagator sandwich and "make it snappy"! Wish I hadn't said that, she did! Glad it was a small reptile!

Not sure any adult beverages were consumed on "spanish eyes". That recording by Bobbe was the greatest sound. You would have to have a clear head to get that kind of sound.

Bobbe! Is a wonderful person, he is one of the best people I have ever met....His teaching and playing steel guitar is far away one of the best.. and I still know he should be in the H.O.F He's Great....
