Hi scott,
I use the RE-20 and love the way it sounds!
The delay sound is sweet and reproduces the ol´SpaceStation pretty close!
I don´t use the reverb, though, I´m rather with a digital "concert hall" kind of verb than a "trashy" spring.
Having tap delay time and on/off on different pedals (unlike the Line6 EchoPark for example) makes it quite intuitive to handle ( or is it called footle?) if it´s under the steel.
Only problem with this pedal:
It´s VERY sensitive and picky about Input level. If you feed it too fat, it will destort easily. Itl works at instrument level.
On the other hand this might again be a feature (not a bug), but for my steel playing it´s a little annoying...
But yes, I´d recommend it!

I have several delay units and plug-ins that I use, including the RE-20. The folks at Roland spent a lot of energy figuring out how to emulate the Space Echo in a digital world and did a great job. I absolutely love the almost-out-of-control effect you could get with the old Space Echo units and the RE-20 nails it. I used that approach on the opening song on One Feather Shy.
