I am restoring a '63 Fender 1000 that I got without pickups. I wondering what pickups someone might recommend that will get me close to the original sound while I continue my search for the original 8 string jazzmaster pickups.
Thanks

Jason Lollar has several excellent steel guitar pickups, but not in the eight string "Jazzmaster" configuration.
Seymour Duncan offers the "Antiquity" pickup, again for Stringmaster style Fender guitars.
Either choice should give you a great sound.

Sorry I didnt see this ,I can make those without covers- the bottom plate would have tabs in the same location where they would be on the cover so it could be a direct fit. Those are a pretty noisy pickup- all Jazzmaster style pickups are that way but they do sound nice.
You would have to call me- thats a custom item I dont usually make but i have all the specs on them from doing repairs on them.
