I'm interested in getting a Line 6 Roto Machine [ Leslie simulator ] Before I go out and get yet another wall wart, does anybody know if the new style Boss "switching" power source can be safely used with the Line 6? Thanks, George

George, I assume you are refferring to the Boss PSA-120S: (Boss Switching Power Supply).

Unlike the older switching power supplies it is spec'd to work well with almost zero load and up to 500ma of current. It will work fine with the Roto. I prefer the totally noisless DanElectro "Zero Hum" wall warts which easily power 2 pedals and cost about $7 each if bought two at a time on ebay.

George,I just tried the Line 6 unit at Best Buy and it was pretty impressive,it was also a heavy little unit which in this case is good it won't be flopping around the stage. Winking

Thanks for the feedback Greg and Stu. I have a couple of the Boss PSA-120S units and I find them to be totally quiet. I'll give one a try with the Roto Machine when I get one. Thanks again, George

George--I have used several of the Line6 Tonecore pedals including the Roto and although they instruct you to use their power supply I have used standard generic wall wart adapters with no problems.

Thanks Jon, I'll start out with the Boss wall wart because they take up so little room. [ like the visual sound 1-Spot ] If I need another, I'll get the Danelectro "Zero Hum" like Greg suggested. George

With 200mA, that Danelectro isn't going to power a whole lot of stuff at once, but they look good for single unit use. The 1 Spot pushes 1700mA - I'm not sure if running multiple pedals off a single source is noisier or quieter that using separate power supplies, but I'd bet it's one or the other!
