I didn't know exactly where to post this

but it is to do with amplifiers

I have been looking into the idea of split cabs so I can make my Steel King easier to move and have some additional flexibility in the speakers that I connect to it etc

And I found this fellow in Western Australia (where I live) who makes some beautiful cabinets

I doubt it would be any more feasible for you states-siders to buy an Australian cab and have it shipped than it is for me to get one from the states, but I thought you might be interested to look - some of them are really beautifully done, I think.

Jeremy
Glad you found a builder closer to you.
I knew the shipping from the USA
was gonna be too high.
Those are beautiful cabinets.

thanks, Rick

I sent him a link to your site too -

I asked him whether he wiould be up for building a 'relic' headshell, with torn tolex and grubby old grill cloth ....

.... he has been strangely silent since then ...

They looked pretty cool to me.

Rick - I'm glad I'm not totally on my own with this ...

I feel a bit guilty asking a craftsman to muck up his work. He has responded, by the way, and said he'd give it a go - but I haven't got a good feel for how enthusiastic he really is. If he is not really keen, then I'll drop it (it was just a silly idea).

do you have any pictures of your relic'd jobs?
