Paul,I start with the bass all the way up and then boost one of the mids,I turn up the shift to about two o'clock and rotate it until I find the right one.A lot depends on what guitar you have?Stu

Paul,

Does this amp have the modification in it? If so, this is the generic setting that I would follow.

Bass at 4 o'clock.
Mid at 11 o'clock.
Shift at 3 o'clock.
High at 1 o'clock.
presence at 2'clock.

Start from here and tweak .

If this amp doesn't have the modification, these settings will not apply and I highly recommend telling the person who owns it to get the mod. It's a drastic change that this amp truly needed!!!

I've got two of them with LeMay mods. I have always been able to get a great sound out of them. My settings are fairly close to what has been posted. I keep one at church and loaned one to my brother for his electric piano.

This amp has an exceptional sound stage when used with the Peavey mod that I use. I feel that this mod is the right amount of mod to get the amp vibing. I just hooked up Richard Comeaux (peavey modified) with one and he loves it.
