Hi Gang, Glad to be in the Forum with y'all and thanks for all the nice comments.I have a new CD (my only cd) now available. It is aimed at country music lovers and displays the '50's and '60's rhythm sounds once again. It is titled "Texas to Tennessee". Weldon, you have had an illustrious career. Forgive me for contacting you on this public forum, but I didn't find an e-mail address on your web-site.
I too have worked with Billy Walker (he is from Cement, Oklahoma, you know), and I am also familiar with the west Texas country around Breckinridge to Albany and beyond.
I must have followed you on the Bill Mack show on Wichita Falls TV, as I also worked with Bill in 1956....all those super-mkt parking lots, school auditoriums, selling Bill's records out of his car trunk during intermissions, etc...... Dues paying days.
Anyway, welcome to the Forum...I will be looking forward to hearing some "war" stories from time to time. Best wishes, www.genejones.com. |

Weldon, glad to see you on the Forum.
I purchased a copy of this CD at the Texas show. I really only wanted it for one track "I'm not Lisa", but after listening to the entire CD, I can't say enough about the wonderful talent demonstrated on all 14 tracks.
It was a real pleasure to meet and listen to Weldon at the Texas show in March. I look forward to more opportunities to hear this great player.

Hi Weldon,
I hope that all of your future recordings have the unlimited appeal
that listeners were so caught up with
when you played and arranged music for
Connie Smith. I carry THE ESSENTIAL
CONNIE SMITH CD to play on trips. I
find those earlier recordings unsurpassed to this day. Your steel
blended with Connie's great voice, to
become everlastingly popular; to this
day. Bill H. |

Weldon Welcome to the forum and I want to let you know that I really enjoyed your playing in 1997 at the Alanta Travaganza that Carl Dixon ran and a fantastic show that was and it is sure missed.

What a profound influence Weldon had on me as a player.
I have been wearing out the Area Code 615 reissue lately (after wearing out the LPs many years earlier), so it will be good to have some fresh Weldon on the changer.
I still chuckle whenever I think of Weldon's advice on the use of fingerpicks in the "Manual of Style" book.
PS--Hi Jimmy and Robin! (I owe them a lot for my intoduction to Weldon personally).
