KJP's lapstyle ablums are definitely my favorites so I'll have to check out his new one. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the link. Looks like there are 11 tunes on this new all-instrumental album, and 3 of them are lapstyle. Somehow I don't think he's going back to the sound of "Lead Me On" and "Roll Away the Stone" though. :( Remember, KJP was playing free jazz early on; and it doesn't look like he'll ever stay in one musical place very long. I doubt if he's doubling back now, but I'll buy the CD anyway, just to see what he's up to this time.

Yeah, Stephan, his early stuff was cool. Even over those few albums' worth of sliding his style seemed to evolve somewhat. I, too, am intrigued to hear what his approach to lap slide is like now. Guess we can find out in a few weeks...!

An all-instrumental album should be interesting and I'm sure will be good. Cna't wait to hear the lap steel but I do like much of his guitar playing as well.
