Got to see Dicky playing tonight with the Amber Digby Show. What else can I say. . . . It just don't get any better than that!

I tuned in on the way home from the gig, wondering who she'd have on steel, and knew in about 2 seconds that it was Dickey. Wow, what tone, and his re-interpretation of Mooney's style is awesome. More pics, Nick!

I've heard him play both and he always sounds like Dicky.

| I think the Sho Bud is Lindley's guitar that Dicky uses. I send Dicky two pedals last week, one for the Sho Bud and one for the Emmons. What a great player. He is like Mooney or Day, he plays with so much feeling. |

| yes Keith, you are correct. Dicky still has his Emmons (a 1966 bolt-on that he affectionately refers to as "Rosie") and can be seen with it on occasion. about a year or so back, Ricky Davis expertly restored Dicky's old sho~bud, i wanna say a super pro, that he used sometime around his Ronnie Milsap era. He brought it out and surprised Dicky with it a show at the Continental Club here in Austin. around the same time, Randy Lindley (Dicky's son-in-law and guitar picker extroardinaire AND my bro!) procured a nice early LDG. Ricky installed Dicky's copedent on the guitar and that's what Dicky generally plays on Amber's shows. it does look brown in the pics but it is actually green. |
