Yep, it's that battle cry, the Opal City Poker Chips ride again.
For those who don't know the Opal City Poker Chips were a side band project in the early 1970s country-rock scene with guitarist Bob Warford (the owner of the second Parsons/White Stringbender prototype), John Ware (Emmylou Harris, Michael Nesmith)on drums, bassist Ron Coleman and others. I can't even begin to detail the history of these guys, too much for one post!
Now the boys have reformed with a larger line-up after years of jamming with each other in different configurations they've decided to form a bigger Opal City outfit;
Chris Darrow, Ron Coleman, Cindy Edwards, John Selk, Robb Strandlund, Bob Warford and John Ware.
Their warm-up gigs were rained out, but this is the big one at Mount Baldy Lodge, CA. Saturday, April 28, 2001.
Should be country-rock heaven.
Email me and I'll email you a copy of the flyer.
Regards
Jason
