The 8th Annual Dairy State Steel Guitar Show will be March 20-22. 2009 at the Hotel Mead in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Our line up is yet to be determined but it promises to be a good show. We are expecting a lot of the regular players back along with some new ones. Susie and I plan to work on invites this next week, but hey, if you want to be on the show just contact me and we will see what we can do. Our featured artists for this year will be Mike Sweeney from Nashville, Tennessee, and Danny Hullihen from Harrison, Michigan. Mike will not only be playing but intends to do a seminar if we can get enough participation. Mike has a thread on here about the class and you should contact him about how much, when it is, and what will be taught. Danny not only is a fine player but he is also the maker of Jagwire strings. He will be bringing his strings along with Marilyn and Jacksy I hope. Danny has played several showa in a row here and always comes up with something new and exciting. For the folks that tag along or want just a little more entertainment we also will be featuring David Church and Maggie Mae. David has been rated as one of the top Hank Williams tribute artists and is a popular performer on RFD-TV's Midwest Country. Maggie is also well known on Midwest Country and hails from 45 miles south of here in Oxford Wisconsin. We are looking forward to another fine show and hope to see everyone there.

I've already had one person to pre-pay for the seminar so we will definitely be having one. Remember, there is limited seating available.

As always, I'm really looking forward to playing this show again this year, and I am very honored to be part of it! This is one of the very best steel shows ever, and the entertainment and hospitality is second to none. The Jagwire crew will also be there this year, and they are definately looking forward to seeing all of you again.

I am looking forward to this great show and I really appreciate Craig adding me to the lineup. I played this show 7 years ago and it was first class all the way. The Hotel was an extremely nice place to hold a steel guitar show. I hope to see many of you there. I played all over WI back in the sixties with a singer from up there named Duane Dee. We played a club regularly in Milwaukee back then called Nick's Nic-A-Bob. I remember working there 7 nights a week when I was only 18 years old and being the only lead instrument in the band. Boy, times sure have changed as many so called country bands now won't even hire a steel player. I'll shut up now, but I get carried away sometimes. I do hope to see many of you there.

We are close to having all the players rounded up and the schedule figured out. We should know in the next week or so. When we get it, Mark will put it on the website. Also don't forget about Mike's seminar.
