On Friday we received a shipment of Bruce Kaphan's excellent new CD, "Slider", on the Hearts of Space label. You've probably heard of this. It's 100% instrumental steel guitar music, and it's just too beautiful for words.

I'll put it in the catalog later this week, but it's available right now. The Forum price is $18.00 and we pay the postage worldwide. To order, follow the instructions on the catalog order page

Hey, b0b, can you (or someone else) tell me something about Bruce? I'm not familiar with him. (And... how did he get Guitar Player to review his CD? Perhaps his Label arranged for it?? )

Bruce is a pretty well-known sideman in rock circles. He became "famous" with American Music Club, and went on the record with R.E.M. and John Lee Hooker, among others. He was highly visible touring with David Byrne a few years ago.

Guitar Player reviewed a steel CD? Cool.

Wow, I picked this up at Tower Recrods yesterday, before I saw this post. It was on an endcap. What a fine record--very beautiful and moody. A great end of the day record.
