My 10-year-old daughter has been playing piano at home (or trying) for about a year now. I got her a piano book for Christmas. I'd like a small MIDI program that she can use to enter the notes from the book to hear and make sure she's playing them correctly without me having to list to EVERYTHING she tries to play.

I'd rather not have to go into SONAR and do this. I just want a SMALL program that will let her enter notes on the grand staff and then save it and play it back.

Any ideas?

I did find Anvil Studio online. It's free but not very intuitive.

There are hundreds of free midi editors. Just google "MIDI Editor" you will get over 30 pages of items.

I can not recommend any as I use SONAR 6 and BIAB 2009.

Maybe others will chime in?

I did the google thing and even downloaded and installed a few of them. Didn't find anything I like so far. I thought somebody might know of a good one that's easy to use. Sonar's MIDI editor has always worked well for me. Maybe I'll just stick with that. Maybe I should even upgrade to Sonar 8.
