Back in the early 60's I took steel guitar lesson from a young lady in our town. she used a sheet music system that I think was call Aloha or Aloha ohe(?)Does this ring a bell with anybody and if so any ideas where I might find some of this music?

My guess is that it was the "Oahu" publishing Co. out of Ohio. No longer in business.

Their teaching methods were quite popular in the 40's,50's and early 60's for Hawaiian music.

Do a search for "Oahu" under Musical Instruments on ebay and you'll find several listings for Cleveland Publishing Co. Here's one of them-

Also Lorene Ruymar who was a student of Jerry Byrds' has a course that she sells which teachs the lap steel through use of sheet music (later by tab) but its a very through coarse.

She has a web site and has also written an interesting History of Hawaiin music.
