Just noticed Peterson Tuners are on sale today for $169 on musicians friend. Went ahead and took the plunge. They are usually $199. Thought I'd try to let my buddies know.

I ordered one last night, and it appears they still have them at that price as of a few minutes ago. With no taxes and free shipping at $169 it is a pretty decent deal.

Does this model have a bypass switch?

I understand the Strobostomp 2 to have true bypass...

Regarding bypass, I just run a separate line to the tuner from the 2nd output of my volume pedal, so it is never in the line to the amp anyway. Most modern volume pedals have 2 outputs, so why not just go that route and not worry about this 'true bypass' issue?

When you do that, the input of your tuner is across (in parallel with) the signal to the input of the first amp after your pedal. It can have a huge effect, or a small effect, on the sound, depending on your tuner and amp.
With some amp/tuner combinations, it gave me a really disgusting (distorted) sound. On the other hand, I suppose it's possible that it could make the sound better in some cases.

Does seem like using the 2nd out on a passive pot pedal would mess with the load the amp input sees...but then why would the passive pedal makers put that there?

I think on the strobostomp 2 when you stomp the box the signal is cut to the amp and the tuner engaged, when you stomp again the tuner is disengaged and the signal bypasses the tuner. If it's different, let me know 'cause that's what I'm interested in as much as the strobe.

My Korg CA-40 works fine in line but I have to reach back and turn down the amp to tune politely.

Almost all the PSG players I know have one input and one output on the volume pedal. Do you know if the bypass would work OK with only one output? Also... where in the loop of things is the best location to put such a tuner.

Actually, I think it's my secret to 'acceptable tone'.

I was lucky and found one on Musicians Friend about 3 years ago. It was in scratch N dent for $149. There was only a hairline scratch on all four corners. love my Strobo-flip

The Revelation Pre-Amp has a tuner out. Very nice feature.
