I did my studio job in 1996, for a gentleman who was madking his first album. I was sort of nervous because I wanted it go right. Prior to doing it I was playing around the Baton Rouge area doing open mics. When a friend of mine turned me on to friend of his who also knew a guy that owned a studio in town. About one week later I received a phone call from the guy that owned the studio asking me if would be interested in playing steel for genlteman that was making his first album. I agreed to do it. When I first got there i warmed up the fingers and tuned up my steel. The guy played the first cut of the master, the guy could sing ! i thought, I really got myself into something now. But the guy that produced it told me just use my imagination. The project turned out ok. How ever I did 1 thing wrong.
1) I low balled my rate. And when the tape came out, on the credits where they had steel guitar they only had my first name, not my my whole name. It was fun,
a true labor of love went into that project.
