Hi group:

The Everly Brothers will be performing at the Britt Festivals in Jacksonville, Oregon on Friday, July 20, 2001. This is an outstanding venue for outside live music in this area.

This was announced in my local newspaper, the Grants Pass Daily Courier yesterday.

Ticket prices are $44 and $41 for reserved and $26 for the lawn.

It would sure be nice if all the local steel guitarists in this area came out to enjoy the Everlys with their fine pedal steel guitarist, Buddy Emmons.

I'm going to try to be there and I hope you can make it also. Who knows, if enough of us get together, we might be able to get a "backstage pass" to meet Buddy and the Everlys in person.

Be that as it may, it sounds like a great evening for the pedal steel guitar.

See you there.

When Ernie Renn posted information about the Everly's Tour Schedule a while back, he said "get your tickets early, they go quickly". I happened to be in Calgary last week and saw an announcement that the tickets would go on sale Saturday morning (Mar 3, 2001). The ticket offices opened at 9:00 AM, I got there at 10:15 AM and they were about half sold!

Get 'em ASAP!

Al, the last few years, unless you're a big patron, you can't even get reserved seats. If they've gone on sale to the general public already, forget it. Lawn seating is usually available, but you're too far from the stage to see anything (although, admittedly, the sound is better) I was hoping maybe Ernie could give us a line on how to get a backstage pass, if Buddy would be gracious enough to give us a few minutes of his time. My girlfriend and I were lucky enough to see the Everlys at the Ryman a couple years back. It was a great show..same band that played the Royal Albert Hall reunion concert. Emmons, Lee, etc. They rocked the place. We had front, nearly center stage balcony seats. Best in the house, I think. Man that was a great show.
