Ken,
I have always thought that was one of Moons finer efforts. _________________ John Drury

Indeed it is. I have this song on a 45rpm, and I recently put it on CD, then into my computer and MP3 player. There's so much great Mooney stuff out there, that it is hard to pick a favorite, but there's something about his work on this song that does something for me (including raising the fine hairs on the back of my neck). Another one in this category is the solo on "Couple More Years."
Some folks don't realize how much smooth and pretty playing Moon did over the years. Some people (steelers) I talk to always tend to associate him with the sound on the early Buck Owens records, and the "plucky" (for lack of a better word) style of playing. I have a recording of George Hamilton IV with Moon all over it. He does a great solo on Together Again, like the full verse, that is awsome. _________________ Steeless. |
