Just got a Matchbox 6A. Not sure if it goes before or after the volume pedal.
I tried it both ways and still not sure what result I should be getting from it.
With the toggle swicth in what I assume to be the "off" position, only the volume control works. In the other position both the volume and tone work, but to tell you the truth, I get more sustain with it in the "off" position.
Also, any ideas on settings?
Im playing an MSA w/a George L pu through a Twin Custom 15. |

If you don't use it between the guitar and the volume pedal, you might as well not use it at all. Also, if you can't tell much of a difference when you're using it, why even use it? I find (like most of the other players around my neck of the woods) that they're not necessary to get a good sound. |

Yes, I am well aware that they are not necessary to get a good sound. I can tell a difference, which mostly seems like a clean boost.
Was just looking for opinions from players that use them. |

Somebody must have added the toggle switch to your 6A.
The 7A had the on/off toggle switch but not the prior model.
The toggle switch on the 7A served an on/off function so you didn't have to pull the output plug to disengage the battery.
I bought a 6A Match Box some time ago with a toggle switch and, if I'm not mistake, it was wired up to be a tone switch. It appears yours is wired the same. |
