Howard steel ?

Back in 69 when i got back from a tour in Germany i think they unloaded my steel before landing.Any hoo.i went to a dept store here in Ft.Worth called Lenords i think.Any ways they had a basket case steel some one had taken apart and i supposed they didn't know how to put it back together and had a bunch of parts missing.
I went to a hard ware store and bought some springs and things i forget what all.I had the steel working that night and took it on the road.It played great.I was in Sioux Falls,S.D.and ordered a new D10 ZB.I have long ago forgot the name of the steel i bought here but Howard sure rings a bell.I have a picture of me playing it some one took but can't see the name of it.Sure wonder if it was a Howard? Was there ever a steel called a Pierce made near Ft.worth? That name rings a bell also for some reason.Tracy
