One of my musical projects is a 4 piece western-swing/Jazz combo, and we have been invited to play at the prestigious Nelson Jazz Festival in the new year week, Jan 2009 out here in New Zealand ... (it's summer here!). I am quite excited at the prospect of introducing the jazz faithful to the wonders of the C6th tuning - it should be a lot of fun!
Check out the link to the festival below, and scroll down the home page to "Artists for 2009" .... click on the "Cactus Swing Band" for a bit of info on the group, I'm the youngster 2nd from left in the Charlie Horse hat !

Paddy,
Your C6 will knock em out. You'll show some people that steel is far more than only a country instrument.

Ted, sorry I will miss you in Dallas mate, I should be back home before you leave Sydney so perhaps you should pop across the ditch for a quick visit on your way home ?? I can stock up on Guinness _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

Ben they were originally going to have some soundbites on the Jazz fest website - not sure what happened there! We have a 12 track CD available so I may bring some over to the Brisbane steel show in June, Brian usually comes with me to that so we can carry a few in our luggage! _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9
