Someone on the forum will have Fran's home phone. She was doing all of the business out of her home the last time I purchased. Greg

Yes, Greg, I was just thinking the same thing....if someone has Fran's number, perhaps call her. She might not be aware that the site is down.

Hopefully no problem.

Someone help me here in case I am incorrect. My understanding is your webhost and domain name may be two different entities and separate renewals. If you let your domain name expire, there are companies that hijack it and then hold it for the highest bidder on a speculative basis. If it just is a matter of renewing your hosting service, that usually is not an issue, you can continue under the same domain name.

But if your domain name gets hijacked sometimes the humblest thing is to come up with a new domain name rather than pay a ransom to get your original name back.

If I recall correctly the city of Portland(?) neglected to renew their domain name. A porno operation took over for awhile.

There is a period of time after the domain expires where its original owner can renew without someone heisting it. Also, ICANN raised their wholesale registration fee so it's a lot more expensive to try to hijack domains now.
