Anybody live out in the sticks N of St. Louis/W of Chicago?

Post by Carl Morris »

I've got a family reunion in the Keokuk IA/Nauvoo IL area around next 4th of July that I'll need to rent a PA for and I'm also short a musician. I'm still not sure exactly which night (sometime between the 1st and the 4th), and this is by no means a pro gig...just family fun. But, if there was somebody that wanted to play some steel or some bass while renting me their small PA, I bet we could come to an agreement on suitable compensation. All other suggestions welcome, too. This would be older country music for the most part, and would be a non-drinking/non-smoking environment.

I'm originally from that area, and know alot of musicians there. But probably Bobby Jacks might be the person to hook up with some pickers. I still play Keokuk country club a couple times a year. If your there in the summer take a pole and fish, and swat mosquitos.

Thanks, I've gotten a couple of emails from guys around there already. As it gets closer I'll have to figure out who's still available and what they have for a PA.

Well, we're getting closer now so I thought I'd bring this back from the dead before I nail everything down. I've gotten a couple responses and will be in contact with those who've already responded soon.

I know a little more now, it will be on Saturday night the 4th of July, probably starting about 7:00pm and probably not going very late knowing the "family reunion" crowd. The important thing is having a PA since we don't want to haul one all the way out there. Everything else is negotiable :-).
