Beginner Steel Guitar DVD

I have been working diligently on my instructional DVDs for the last 3 months. Within the next 30 days I will be releasing my first Beginners disc. This is a "square one" lesson disc. The longest lesson on the disc is an in depth look at tuning issues, and technique. I have put a great deal of time and effort into developing a syllabus that will be aimed at not only getting beginner players on the "Fast Track", but will also give accomplished players exercises that will improve execution, and dexterity.
I want to thank all of you here on the Forum that have given me support, input, advice, and have provided the inspiration for me to teach. I will be forever grateful...

Way to go Mickey, I watch you're u-tube religouslly. You're playing totaly blows me away and I hope that some day I'll be able to play 1/10 as well. As a stroke surviver, I am trying to learn to play a D10 bud but seems all of the lesson books assume that every one allready knows how to play a reg. guitar. For the first three months I played with the picks upside down {down-side up ?}.

Hey Mickey........... Wish you could put alot of your lessons on DVD, and sell them. My guitar is set up away from my computer so I can't follow you on U-Tube, and I love your lessons. So guess I will keep pluging away like I have been. But I sure would buy um! If you did um!............ Have a great Thanksgiving :D :D :D Jack<><

What good news!

I'll buy one in a heartbeat. I was wondering when you'd compile some of your YouTube stuff into a DVD course.

Can't wait! Let me know when it's available!

I would certainly buy one. Mickey is one heckuva picker, a great guy and he's good at explaining stuff clearly.

Mickey, please add me to your list of interested parties.

Do you have any feel for approximate cost of this material?

Dave, Im really looking forward to this year in Dallas. Im sure that one of us will be paying for the "Million Hits Tab" at the bar, and honestly, I hope its me. You've done such remarkable work with steel players around the world Dave. You have a masters touch like none other. Im proud to know you and be your friend. I hope your holiday season is memorable one...peace!...Mickey
PS...MY beginners CD will be the same price...37.00 each, includes shipping...Im working very hard on editing for content, and it should be ready very soon....

Mickey, thanks for the peek at the price. You mention they will be $37 each. Just want to make sure I understand, does that mean there are multiple disks in the series? Or, do you mean there is one dvd that will contain the entire set of material and it will be $37 for each copy we want? Sorry to be so anal about semantics, but like I said just wanted to clarify.

Thanks for the hard work and dedication to us rookies!!

-Chuck

Chuck,When I get fininshed with the first CD, if it takes multiple CDs the price will still be 37.00. As long as I can keep the cost barely above breaking even I will keep them low!...I want to make sure that they are well recieved before I dive head first into an entire line. Given the progress Ive made personally since I started this Utube thing....Im flooded with ideas.... theyre going to need an outlet soon or i might drown!..
Patricia Warnock will be assisting me for the next several days :) :) :) ....Man did you see that chord chart she created?....Shes really something...

Patricia's chord chart is great. So very nice of her to share it with us all. Maybe the dvd could have a companion website where that chart could be downloaded so that future beginners that were not fortunate enough to receive a copy directly from Patricia could benefit from it.

Many beginners have expressed thier frustration with the somewhat limited instructional material available for pedal steel. Its wonderful to see promising new materials such as Mickeys new dvd and Patricia's chord chart. I think its entirely possible these materials could become "standards" like Winnies book.
