Tascam recording at jam night

Post by John Roche »

I took my Tascam GT-R1 to the jam the other night to try it out, I placed the unit in my coat pocket with the built in mics sticking out enought to record the band, this is a great bit of kit, I put a sample up on youtube,No video but with photos of the guys playing. The song is a sort of western swing version of Johnny B Goode, I had a go at playing B6th on it , not much pedal work as we have never done it like this before.... John

John,

That sounds pretty good for a coat pocket recording.

Tell me more. Placement of you? Background noise? etc?

Jim, The coat was about 10 foot from the stage hanging on the back of a chair , the coat helped to shield the unit from the background noise, I did not do much adjustment to the volume control apart form adjust the input volume from the singer singing some songs using backing tracks before he got the rest of the band up..JR

Thanks John.

Sounds pretty good for being that easy.

Another toy to add to the list.
