Just for fun, my western swing band went into the studio a few weeks ago and cut a little four-song holiday disc, called "Holiday Bootleg". It contains three swingin' Christmas tunes, including:
"Run, Run, Rudolph"
"Santa Claus is Comin' to Town"
"God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen" (instrumental)
plus a new, original swing tune I wrote (and sing!), called "I'm Gettin' Nothin' for Christmas" (which we like to think of as the best darn Hanukkah song written in, oh, say the last 5,000 years or so). If you enjoy "Online Lover" from our "Western Omelette" CD, you'll get a kick outta this tune too.
If you dig western swing, I think you'll enjoy this CD; it's guaranteed to be more fun than 96% of all the schlock you'll hear on the radio between now and new years!
Copies are available directly from yours truly. $7 including shipping, payable to "Jim Cohen", mail to P.O.Box 29733, Elkins Park, PA 19027.
And, oh yes... have a (western) swingin' holiday season!
