There's been a lot of talk about the RV-7 recently, here's a couple more to think about. The Tech 21 Reverb Boost is analog and has a boost function. I've been trying it out next to the RV-7 and the T-Rex Roommate. The RV-7 is a nice pedal, I like it more than any of the Boss or the Holy Grail but I think the Tech 21 sounds warmer, and the boost and "rumble" functions are pretty cool. The Tech 21 does have some hiss (mainly with the boost turned up) but it doesn't have any of the digital grit/crap/noise that you get with the RV-7. The T-Rex blows them both away, really there's no comparison but it is about twice the price of the other two. That being said, they would all sound great at a gig where you'd never hear all the fussy stuff that you only get by scrutinizing them at home.

Hi Cartwright ,
Thanks for the mini review ..... I have to agree that those T-Rex pedals are costly, but they sure do the job very well .... I heard some clips of the T-Rex Delay pedal and they sound pretty sweet too !....Thanks again, Jim

Yeah Jim, their delays are really nice. I don't know if they are the best thing for pedal steel though. I had a replica and it distorted when I played pedal steel through it, great for guitar though-very analog sounding.

Cartwright,
I think there's a lot to be said for a LOT of the various effects when using a pedals steel ....The output is really high on a lot of pedal steel pickups .....This compounded with a lot of amps effects loops send and return impedance mismatches makes it hard to get the right setup working ....At least there is the Kleinalator which works with effects loops on guitar amps that help with the impedance problem ....They're costly but do the job.....Jim
