Have any of you run your Tele through a Peavey Nashville 1000 Amp? does this work OK or do I need to get a different amp to start hacking on a Tele? |

Some folks say they like it fine.
For me, I had to add some stuff to get the high end to stand out like a Fender. I think it is mostly due to the speaker.
A friend of mine uses a Nash 112 for everything (he plays both psg and tele) and runs direct into the board. He just uses the amp for monitoring. I think the electronics are real similar to the 1000.
His sound is supreme. |

Patrick i run mine into my Revelation Pre rack, then into the back of the Nash1000 and it sounds awesome !
it's a great all round amp in my opinion. I also play a bit of fiddle occasionally through it and that sounds great as well. |

the question is not if you can but rather will you be pleased with the overall sound.
If you are seeking the traditional tones that Brad, Brent, Vince, James etc get or something close to that sound you may not be pleased.
The 1000 is a great amp. will it be great for Tele? Only you can decide.
I never found a quality Guitar tone with any of my Steel Guitar amps, but maybe it's just me.
For me it's a Hot Rod Deville or Peavey Classic 50 ( 2x12 or 4x10) on the bigger gigs and a Peavey Classic 30 in the smaller rooms. A Sparkle Drive is also a must with all of them. Twins are just to dang heavy.
Telecasters love tubes and 12" speakers or 10" speakers.
These days it appears everyone is chasing the EL84's ( AC30's) tones for Telecasters and with good reason. They talk to you ! I personally think the best out there right now for Telecasters ( purpose and value ) is the early issue Peavey Classic 30, designed after the AC 30's ,it's clean, it's loud , it's light weight and along with a Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive and a Tremelo pedal can give you pretty much anything you ask for and more.

Taking a line from Mike Brown, steel amps and speakers are "voiced" differently than a lead guitar amp and speakers.
I have a (Nashville) Tele, but don't do much (actually very little) lead, so I "get by" with my steel amps. If I were still picking a lot of lead it would be with a tube Fender amp.
I did a job Halloween night and I had to double on lead and steel. The guy that hired me let me use one of his Fender amps for the Tele and it was much better than what I get out of my Nashville 112 (or 1000 since they have identical preamp sections). |

Patrick , good deal, one of the things not mentioned is the WHY factor, when a player literally SNAPS the Telecaster strings, tubes react, they go with the added percussion of the string attack and respond with a bit of grit. Solid states amps tend to compress these signals, especially Steel guitar amps. Large 15 " speakers make them sound sterile. Smaller 10's or 12's ,Guitar speakers, respond to these transients appropriately. |

It's a personal preference thing. I like my Tele through my Classic series but prefer my steel through a Nashville. |

I just sold a Peavey classic 30, and got a Fender Roc-Pro 1000, or performer 1000 same amp, with an extension cabinet. Just came in on Fed-ex today. Both the amp and the Cab have a 12" Fender speaker in them. . The classic 30 just didn't seem to have the body, or fullness that the Roc Pro has. And, I can use the Roc Pro with extension cab with my steel guitar. Sounds purty good to. Just in case my Nashville 1000 goes bad on me. The Roc Pro has a tube pre-amp. Nice little amp, and not a big difference in size and weight of the Classic 30. Now if I can just dial in a good Tele tone. Gettin purty close I thin.

Merle Haggard plays his Tele through a Nashville 1000. Good enough for Merle, good enough for me.
