Could it be because you have not yet configured the computer's wireless adapter to log onto the wireless router, using the security information created by the router?

Tell us everything you know about the wireless router and the network adapter in your computer. Spare no detail, except for actual encryption keys, which are none of our business. With all the details on hand I or others can assist you with the setup.

If your router shipped with a setup CD you should run it on the computer that you want to connect to it. The router will establish a strong security key (preferably WPA2) and pair the computer's wireless adapter to the router's security key.

You should create.change the router's administrator password as soon as possible! Leaving the password at the default setting can allow hackers to own your router, or poison it's internal routing tables, resulting in possible bank account theft.

David;
It is customary to reveal how a problem discussed on this forum was resolved. This may help others who experience similar difficulties. Please outline what you did to connect to your wireless network.
