Posted: 9 Nov 2008 11:35 pm
The SSSGC enjoyed a full house today despite missing three key players: Vance was on break after a busy schedule, Leon is on sick-leave and Virgil was hunting. You missed a great one, guys, and we missed you. We also missed Mrs. Zelpha Ward.
Bill Myrick, Ben Chesney and Jerry Newberry - great to have you on our line today.
Members who attended Sunday's meeting & jam:
Bill Myrick, Gerald Sparks, Ben Chesney, David Starr, Larry Garrett, Jerry Newberry, Leroy Hittson, Donley Harrington, Norma Jean Lucas, Lynn Carney, Charlie Barnett and Chad Jones.
Visitors included:
Ron Frederiksen of the Arklahoma Steel Club, who brought his steel and joined the line. We enjoyed having you, Ron. Hope to see you again. Also, we enjoyed visiting with David Starr's family, Donna Newberry, Marlene Barnett and Lynn's Hubby, Mark. Thanks for the wonderful songs, Donna.
Highlights included:
Donna Newberry sang: "You Beat All I've Ever Seen" with Jerry Newberry leading on steel, and "Together Again."
Gerald Sparks sang and played: "Another Bridge to Burn."
Leroy sang "Tonight the Bottle Let Me Down" with Bill Myrick leading on steel.
Larry Garret played and sang, "We Could."
Our guest, Ron Frederiksen, led on "Last Date."
Jerry Newberry played "Take These Chains From my Heart."
Ben Chesney played "Singing the Blues."
Lynn shot the photos and conducted interviews. She also brought homemade fudge. We had coffee and cookies too.
Join us next month, same time, same place.

"Uh, those are called pedals, Jerry." - Charlie Barnett and Jerry Newberry chatting about Jerry's new Mullin Pro 2.
Donna Newberry with Leroy Hittson of the sensational Hittson Brothers Band on drums.
Bill Myrick (foreground) and Gerald Sparks (background). Great song, Gerald!
Norma Jean Lucas on bass with Chad Jones on the right.
Jerry's gorgeous new Mullen G2 - the latest and some say greatest Mullen yet.
We shared an afternoon of awesome music, fun and fellowship. Time passed too fast. Thanks everyone!
