I'll be in Nashville for a few days next week and I'd like to go and see some good players and maybe say hello. Just wondering if any of the forum members could point me in the right direction. I'm hoping to catch the Time Jumpers and I'd like to find out where Tommy White, Mike Johnson and Mike Sweeney are playing. Any suggestions for other players / venues would be most welcome.

I'll thank anyone in advance for taking time to post, fingers crossed I'll have time to reply before we leave.

Cheers
Mark

Not quite sure which week you mean, but this Wednesday (the 5th) I'll be playing old time country ( 40's, 50's, and 60's) mixed with western swing and a little bluegrass with a great singer named Dave Peterson at a nice neighborhood bar (and musicians hangout) called the "12 South Taproom". Lots of room to stretch out and play both classic country E9 styles and a lot of C6th, it's always a blast. And an incredible band; just snare and high-hat for drums, Dennis Crouch on upright bass, either Bryan Sutton or David Grier on electric guitar and usually Luke Bulla from the Jerry Douglas band on fiddle...

The Taproom is about 2 miles south of downtown on the same street as the Station Inn (12th Avenue South). We usually play from around 8 to 11:30 or so...

Mark,
You will have a great time.
The timejumpers are on Monday nights only at the Station Inn.
I would suggest You send Mike Sweeney a message asking where and when He is playing,He was at the Wheel and the Stage on Broadway when We were there in March, extremely nice Man and awesome player.
You can't go wrong on Broadway, steel a plenty and they are all first class.
Best regards
Billy

Hi Mike....i posted this same request a couple of weeks ago too, since my wife and I will be there Nov. 10 to Nov. 14 for CMA awards. Paul Franklin will be at 3rd & Lindsay on Tues., Nov. 11 with "The Players". I will most definitely be there! Also going to check out Sweeney too. Maybe we'll get a chance to meet. Have a safe trip!

Thanks for the posts chaps, sadly we're back in the UK now. I have to say we had a fantastic time, probably our best ever holiday. Special thanks to John and Clive for the advice prior to leaving. A big thank you to Bobby Boggs for advice about making the trip and Mike Sweeney whilst in Nashville. We were only in the US for a week and Nashville for 4 days but we did so much and were treated so nicely by everyone we met. We were very lucky to see many great players, Paul Franklin and Andy Reiss with the Time Jumpers were especially awesome and happy to chat to anyone. Dan and Bobbe Seymour made us welcome at SGN and Bobbe played for us. Our fights, hotels, the food, car and entertainment were spot on.

Best regards to everyone

Mark and Donna

PS David, I'll call you. I've been meaning to call you!

I better get practicing........

Peter Finney, you're keeping some good company at the Taproom! Luke Bulla and Dennis Crouch are tops.
