kd--thank you and the very best to you.

Oh, about the stuffing thing.....the experts say don't. Make it on the side or something but all stuffin' the bird will do is make it take longer to cook and make a nice cozy home for a bunch of real nasty micro-critters. Now I have nothing against these little fellers and we're all god's chillun and all but I dunno--call me intolerant but I'd just as soon not have Sam and Ella at my table.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Put two small onions in the cavity with two sticks of celry.Fill the rest of the cavity with unpoped popcorn with 1 stick of butter. Set your oven at 275 bake for six hours or until the popcorn blows the butt off the turkey. You will also have popcorn to watch the ball game. ( Hope this helps )
HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!!!

Oh Kenny, don't wish that upon me. I always thought you were supposed to overeat and get sick. Image

Seriously now, I hope everyone has a nice SAFE Thanksgiving. If you're driving, watch out for that other SOB on the road. Also, watch out for the popcorn rain that will take place when that turkey's butt explodes. Those darn corn kernels get stuck in your tire treads and no dental floss will help you.

Happy Thanksgiving to you Kenny and evryone on this forum from East Tennessee. It's a happy one for me ..because I Found this place to come in and because I found all of these great guys ..and some here in in East Tenn.
On The Turkey.. When you get it at the grocery store..also get a paper grocery sack.
And to make it easier ,pick up some Stuffing Mix in a bag or box..don't worry about brand.
Grease the inside of the bag with soft spead margerine or (if you prefere) real butter. You can cut up some celery, onions, chestnuts or whatever and mix it into your stuffing mix. I've some time substituted orange juice or cranberry juice for part of the water on the directions. Take out the gizzards and such from the inside of the bird and put the stuffing in both ends. close the ends real tight. graese the outside of the bird with your margerine or butter, and stick it IN the bag Close the bad and put the bird in a roasting pan and put in the oven set temp at between 275 and 350 depending on how fast you want to roast it. I usually get every ting ready by midnite (the night before) and put it in the oven at 275. By coffee time next morning ,the little temp thing is poped out and the bird is ready!. If all else fails..buy a frozen turkey dinner and pop it in the microwave!!!

I'm with Jon Light on the stuffing-Don't!!
It's a food poisoning waiting to happen....

here's a turkey fixing option though:

Alton Brown's Good Eats Roast Turkey Recipe

IMO Alton is way better than Emeril...

Food Channel junkies like me really dig Iron Chef though!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

What do you get when you cross a turkey with a centipede?

Enough drumsticks for everyone!

Good luck with your stuffing and Happy T-Day to All!

Thanks, Kenny; Hope you and yours have a happy Thanksgiving also.

Haven't been able to catch our turkey yet, so I can't be any help on the stuffing deal. Oh well, couldn't get him to stand still long enough last year, anyways; this year probably the same. Image God's blessings to you, my friend.------------Skip

Kenny,
Have a happy Thanksgiving my friend...
And as for stuffing the turkey...make your dressing on the side,,,place in a big cooking pan...cook the turkey first...when it is about 30 minutes from being done...lay the bird in the bed of dressing and cook this another 30 or 40 minutes together, allowing the dressing to cook...much less danger of the little 'germies' having you for supper...
Peace...RP...'come on in'...

And a very happy Thanksgiving to you all...how many of you get to work today. I must go in and slave over the console for four hours this afternoon Image Image This is a rough job, but, someone has got to do it. Sometimes I wonder if I really have a job at all, but, my boss keeps paying me to sit on my rear and talk and play music...something I would do for free(I hope the boss doesn't see this) Just another blessing to count. Of course this means I get to feast on a Thanksgiving meal of hot dogs and Coke Image Not bad at all....Pat
