Nick, Jerry was one helluva guitarist and vocalist. We worked together at Bonnie Price's Foothill Club in SoCal for a while and it was a treat working with as great a musician as he was. Jerry had been on Shindig on TV in the early sixties, was the lead guitarist on the Sonny & Cher TV show as well as Cher's show after her and Sonny split. He had some albums out as "Jerry Cole & the Spacemen. He was on the Beach Boys classic "Pet Sounds" album as well as others. The last time I talked to him was a couple of years ago and he was the bandleader for Nancy Sinatra's Vegas show. I learned a lot from him about stage presence and showmanship. Unfortunately, he had "little man's complex" pretty bad as he was only around 4'11" or 5' tall but he was large on talent. What's strange is I'm 6'4" tall and we got along great on and off the stage. I had some high profile private gigs through him for some TV production companies which paid "very" well which I really appreciated. He's done some musician's wrong, I guess, but he never did anything but good concerning myself. I'm sad to see him die at an early age as he still had a lot to offer. He could sing Roy Orbison tunes better than Roy and then stand right up there with world class guitarists in any venue and swap lick for lick with 'em.............JH in Va.
