Time is flying by and the NEISGJ committee is getting ready for the 17th annual Northeast Iowa Steel Guitar Show. This is a new date change for us and we will NOT be having any snow in October!!!! We will start off again with a Friday night jam at the Electric Park Ballroom at 6 pm. This is open to the public and any pickers that want to jump in, you are more than welcome. The Saturday show begins at 11 AM and goes to 11 pm with many great midwest pickers as usual and some new ones. We have the great Ron Elliot back this year for the third time, and for the first time he will get to perform! Cool Remember, no snow this year. We also have Dewitt Scotty Scott back as well and really looking forward to having him there and playing again for us. Sunday morning begins with a steel church service at 9:00 AM and the show begins around 10 and goes until 5 pm. Steel Radio will be in the house with Miss Lana and Michael Scott steering the ship for SteelRadio.com. Check out the line up this year on the website at www.steelguitarjam.com and come see us at the Waterloo Show "Where no one is a Stranger"

This is getting closer, I'm getting excited!!!

The house band will consist of Harry Lange on Drums, Mark Wayne on bass, Glenn Runnels on fiddle, and myself on guitar. We may not be able to read documents, but we can read charts of all flavors. If you need the houseband, We are there for you. Thanks guys and gals.

The Northeast Iowa Steel Guitar Show (NISGS) expresses appreciation to Paul Wade of Mundelein, IL, for his recent donation of a guitar to our Jump Start Academy (JSA). Paul donated an MSA S-10 pedal steel to the JSA program which has the purpose of providing individuals aspiring to learn steel guitar with free lessons and free use of a steel guitar for one year. The donation now brings the number of guitars available in the program to a total of four (Zum, Williams, BMI, and MSA). Paul, we THANK YOU!!! Interest in our Jump Start Academy seems to be gradually growing each year so donations of guitars, amps, etc. are always welcome. Anyone interested in more information about the program is encouraged to contact us.

Things are really getting 'revved' up for our upcoming show on October 24-26 at the Electric Park Ballroom in Waterloo! We're looking forward to enjoying great music by a super lineup of players that includes icons Ron Elliott and Scotty along with 25-30 Midwest artists. The player schedule is posted at www.steelguitarjam.com along with information about lodging, etc. Reservations need to be made by October 1 to get the show rate. Based on the number of inquiries I've had, a lot of interest is being expressed in participating in the open circle steel jam scheduled Friday night 6-10 p.m. Hope to see you and your friends at the show!

Kirk sure do wish I could make this trip.
We had a great time at the Dairy Jam.
I saw Sue at St Louis, and it was good to see her and Glenn and his wife.

I sure wish I could be there. It has been a few years. These folks always put up a great show. Lefty, Craig, Kirk, Roger, and all the other nice people. I hope that next year the schedule will permit. Rumor has it that Mark will be there with his grass skirt and banana's. Shocked

Steve, I just recieved a note from the DNR, and they have put out a ban on grass skirts due to our dryness here this year. Instead, I would suggest that Mark wear a toga with a turbine with a orange life jacket. But that Burger king mask was the hit last year.

Steve I am no longer involved in the planning of the Iowa show. It is too far to drive from up here in Wisconsin, and too hectic to help with Iowa and plan the Dairy State Steel Show also. In fact for the first time since it was started I will not be in attendance to Iowa. I would have liked to but the date doesn't work this year.

A red hot line up this year!!! October was a good move to allow our southern friends to come up to Iowa. Another memorable show, but without the ice capades. Rolling Eyes
