The September edition of the recorded continuous airing of "Swingin' West" has just come up on the Internet on twangtownusa.com. It will be on 24 hours a day seven days a week, over and over, for the entire month.
There is no specific theme for this month, September, just a lot of good Western Swing. Among the sounds you will hear will be Lionel Wending from France, Maryann Price from Texas and Interstate Cowboy from Colorado with a cut from their recent CD.
You will also enjoy steel guitarist Don Sulesky from Florida, the Stardust Cowboys from California and vocalists Kitty Houston and Dugg Collins. There is also a trip back to the 1980s with the Texas Panhandle Band under the direction of Hank Pell with the one and only Jody Carver playing steel guitar.
There is a Western oriented grouping with steel guitarists Chuck Lettes and Rick Alexander and vocalist Myra Pearce. The Texas dance hall grouping spotlights Tony Booth, Justin Trevino and Canadian fiddle great Frankie Rodgers. The album closes with the theme by young fiddle star, Damian Green.
The recorded edition of "Swingin' West" can always be heard by clicking the mouse on the appropriate spot on the bottom of the home page of the "Swingin' West" web site, www.swinginwest.com
Thank You!

Does that mean a cowboy who dies without leaving a will?

See ya at PSGA/Norwalk, friend.

How does a person play the shows? When I click on a show my computer gives me a choice to save the file or find a program on-line to open the file. I downloaded the Realplayer 10-5gold and tried again but got the same window. I notice the file size is 155 bytes. Is that a pointer? Can these files be played on-line or must they be saved? And how can a 155 byte file contain anything playable? If they must be downloaded what is the file size for a 1 hour show? _________________ Website: www.Music2myEars.net

Larry,
I am really confused as I have found that as long as you have Real Player downloaded properly it should come right up. Have you tried both the link on my homepage www.swinginwest.com as well as http://www.twangtownusa.com/hours.html and then click on show #14? That shouldn't make a difference but you never know. In the meantime I will try to ask around and maybe someone else can help who reads this.
Thanks so very much for your interest. _________________ Mike |

Thanks Mike, The trick was (as you said) to PROPERLY install realplayer. I had downloaded it to my 'puter & thought it installed 'cuz I had a shortcut on my desktop. But, it was a shortcut for the install program. Once I ran that, all is well. Now I will probably see conflicts between RealPlayer & Windows Media player, & Real Rhapsody. They don't like each other. They all want to be the default media player. But anyway I can now play files from Twangtownusa.com. Thanks, Larry _________________ Website: www.Music2myEars.net

Here's a bump for Mike.
Larry all you need do is go into what ever program you want such as Media Player like I use and make it your default program.
Mike's show when it comes up wil still play with RealPlayer.
